Honoring the men of the 555th who have answered the final roll call, their legacy endures in every life they touched
"We few, we happy few, we band of brothers."
The men of the 555th Parachute Infantry Battalion did not wait for the law to recognize their equality. They strapped on their parachutes and proved it. For those who have since made their final jump, this page stands as a permanent record, their names, their service, their stories.
The Samuel Council Chapter maintains this memorial as an act of love and duty. We ask that if you knew one of these men, or know someone who should be added, you reach out so we may honor them properly.
"The 555th Parachute Infantry Association was formed as a vehicle designed to pay homage to brave troopers who have preceded us and to maintain their memory by doing good works for the society in which we live."555th Parachute Infantry Association Mission
Sergeant Joe Harris served as a member of the 555th Parachute Infantry Battalion, one of the pioneering soldiers who helped make the Triple Nickle what it was and what it remains. He was a member of the Samuel Council Chapter and remained connected to his brothers until the end.
Sgt. Harris carried the spirit of the 555th, courage earned on the ground, not given by title. He is missed. He is remembered. His name is written here so it will not be forgotten.
"All blood runs red.", 1st Sgt. Walter Morris

The men of the 555th proved that courage has no color. They fought for a country that had not yet fully accepted them, and they did it without complaint, without hesitation. The Samuel Council Chapter exists to make sure that sacrifice is never forgotten.
